1.Common Reasons for Elevator Door Not Closing 

1.1. Obstruction door track or sill

• Dust or Small objects in a door track or sill

• Solutions:

• ✅ Clean the tracks and remove any small objects is there.  

1.2. Faulty Door Sensors 

• Elevator Door sensor (Infrared door sensor) detects objects may if the door panel misaligned or dirty or the sensor faulty. 

• Solutions:
•  ✅Wipe the sensor with a dry clean cloth
•  ✅Check the panel’s alignment  
•  ✅Check the sensor output if not present, replace  it. 

1.3. Door Motor Malfunction 

• If the door motor is faulty the door is not getting enough power to close the door. 

• Solutions: 

• ✅Make sure the motor and drive connections are tight 
• ✅Check the power supply of drive 
• ✅If the drive or motor failure, replace it. 

1.4. Safety Edge Activation 

• Some Elevators have a safety edge switch, if it gets more pressure, it will activate, and it won’t allow the door close. 

• Solutions:

•  ✅ Check the safety edge switch reset it. 
•  ✅ If the switch got broken or not functioning, replace it.  

1.5. Door Opening Button Signal Active 

• In COP panel door opening Button got struck or button may active due to failure. 

Solution:

• ✅ check the button condition is smooth operation 
• ✅check button output
