How to Fix Encoder problem? Elevator Not moving or Lift jerking issue

 Introduction: 

In a closed-loop Elevator system, the Encoder plays the crucial role. Encoder is a feedback device which is given output to drive from motor. Widely the Incremental Encoder is using to the elevator system. I personally heard many technicians mistakenly believe that the Encoder is controls the motor speed, but this is not true. Instead, it only monitors the machine's speed and sends feedback to the VVVF drive of Elevator. In this post we will know about,

  1. Incremental Encoder 
  2. Absolute Encoder     

Working Details: 

✅ The encoder actually converts motion or rotation input to digital signal output from motor to Drive. 
✅ Accurately detecting speed and position 
✅ help maintain smooth operation.









Encoder Problem: 

❗Elevator jerk while moving UP or DOWN direction.
  
❗Permanent Error related Encoder Feedback.

❗Not able to do Tuning setup successfully in initial Startup.
  
                   🔗 Most of the elevators are performing this type issues only but, its change error number                             depend on its brand. Let's we will see the solutions. 

Elevator Troubleshooting:

 🔑 Check the Encoder Related Parameters one by one carefully change if it was wrong. 

🔑 Check the connection of encoder terminal and VVVF connection points, make assure there is no loose connections. 

🔑 Ensure the fixation of encoder in motor shaft. Again, do the Machine tuning procedure.

🔑 These steps are ok then also the problem exists then better to change New Encoder.
